Al Hilal SFC, or the Blue Wave, features iconic Brazilian forward Neymar, who boasts one UEFA Champions League title and one FIFA Club World Cup title with FC Barcelona (2016), three FIFA World Cup rosters, one Olympic gold medal (2016) and one Olympic silver medal (2012), among other accomplishments. The Brazilian international has been awarded top goal scorer in four different instances: 2014/15 UEFA Champions League, 2014/15 Copa del Rey, 2011/12 Copa Libertadores and 2009/10 Copa do Brasil. The forward has recorded one goal and three assists with the Saudi side in seven appearances across all competitions.
Al Hilal SFC is Saudi Arabia’s most successful club and one of four Asian Football Confederation sides competing in the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™. The Blue Wave boast a record 19 league titles without ever being relegated since claiming the Saudi Pro League’s inaugural season championship (1976/77). The Saudi side has won 13 Crown Prince Cup titles, seven Saudi Federation Cup titles, 11 King Cup titles, five Super Cup wins and a Saudi Founder’s Cup at the domestic level. On the international stage, Al Hilal SFC has won eight Asian Football Confederation trophies, including four AFC Champions League titles (1991, 2000, 2019, 2021), two Asian Cup Winners’ Cup titles (1997, 2002) and two Asian Super Cup titles (1997, 2000). The Blue Wave has competed in three of the last five FIFA Club World Cup tournaments, with its best finish coming in 2022 when they claimed runner-up after a 5-3 loss to Real Madrid.
Reigning Concacaf Champions Cup winner CF Pachuca will square off with the Saudi side. The Mexican team owns six continental titles (two Concacaf Champions League titles, four Concacaf Champions Cup titles) and one Copa Sudamericana title from a 2006 win over Colo Colo. Its 2006 Copa Sudamericana win marked the first and only time a Mexican club has ever won a CONMEBOL tournament. CF Pachuca also boasts seven Liga MX titles, winning the Apertura four times and the Clausura three times. This will mark the fourth time CF Pachuca has competed in the FIFA Club World Cup, with its best result at third place in 2017.
